The Maine Narrow Gauge RR has had a few place names of its own, some, like Fish Point, have been recognized and used by the public and some have not, and are only used by the railroad. Still others give reference to the lines predecessors, the Grand Trunk, and Saint Lawrence and Atlantic Railroads.

The Maine Narrow Gauge RR may seem to have east and west backwards but if you know that the line they currently run on went to Montreal, Canada, remember that Montreal is northwest of Portland, and that the Grand Trunk line started at India St. and went out around the point, then you will understand why MNGR West is east and MNGR East is west. Still confused? Don't worry, they're not.
The Maine Narrow Gauge RR itself can be found at 33-57 Fore St., Portland, ME 04101, 43.663060, -70.244178 or on the web at www.mainenarrowgauge.org .
