Amtrak 40th Anniversary Train

For it's 40th Anniversary Amtrak put together a train full of past equipment donated for the purpose by several employees and former employees, with the cars themselves from the out of service fleet, and sent it touring around the country. This train made a visit to Freeport for the opening of the new Freeport Station Shopping complex. Most of these pictures are from that train.

The PanAm Officer and Crew Special (OCS) train also paid a visit. ST 100 was DH 100. D&H purchased it from Norfolk & Western in 1976. Its original number was NW 102. ST 101 was ST 43, and before that was DH 43. D&H purchased it from Denver, Rio Grande, & Western in 1967. Its original number was DRGW 1290. Previous name was Champlain, and before that, Castle Gate. Details on the engines can be found on their respective pages. The OCS information is from railroad.net/forums.
