These pictures were given to me after having been in a fire.
The Bangor & Aroostook Railroad ran from the northern border of Maine to the port town of Searsport and carried primarily two major products for most of it's operating years, potatoes and lumber. Chartered in 1891, it ran until the 1960's before its lines were sold off. It was the northern terminus of the Orange Blossom Special. A high speed long distance freight that carried potatoes down to Florida and brought oranges back.
