General Motors Electromotive Division (EMD)
In 1930 General Motors purchased the Winton Engine Company and Electro-Motive Engineering Corporation to start their Electromotive Division (EMD). Combined with their development labratories they were able to garner a major section of the railroad diesel locomotive market. Here you can find pictures of EMD model engines.
